As a specialised mathematics tuition centre, we offer Additional Mathematics tuition for Secondary 3 and 4 leading to the GCE 'O' Level Additional Mathematics. At MathLite, we focus on conceptual understanding rather than rote learning and examination skills. We use interactive geometry activities to help students in their understanding. Our Additional Mathematics curriculum was designed based on MOE syllabus and strictly aligned with SEAB requirements.

Additional Mathematics helps students to develop critical-thinking, logical reasoning, effective communication, deep analyzing, applications and metacognitive skills through a mathematical approach to problem-solving. It enables student to connect ideas within mathematics and sciences through applications of mathematics and provides students the different exposures to appreciate the beauty, intellectual nature and power of mathematics.

'O' Level Additional Math can be used for computation of L1R5 and L1B4. It is also a prerequisite to pass A Math in order to take H2 Mathematics at A Level once the student enters Junior College. H2 Mathematics is also a prerequisite for many courses such as Mathematics and Physics and most Engineering courses at university. Hence, we build and lay a strong foundation to prepare students for their journey into more profound mathematics when they enter higher level of education.

A good pass in 'O' level A Mathematics will also enhance your chance to qualify for your choice course in our local Polytechnics as well as qualification for Junior College.

What do you expect:
Our weekly 2-hour sessions focus on helping students clarify doubts, using interesting and engaging ways to teach new concepts, achieving proficiency through practices that includes repetition and variation. With the small class size, our tutors can better understand students’ learning needs and provide customized support to them. Our student-centered approach allows our tutors to determine the most effective way to cater to the different learning needs of each individual. ICT tools are used to collect feedback and enable our students to visualise abstract concepts. We believe that students’ participation in class for their learning is extremely important. Instead of giving answers directly, our tutors lead the students to explore, investigate and find the answer on their own. Our head tutor Mr Tan Teck Hock is extremely sharp in identifying student’s ability and their common errors. He asks his students to reflect on what they learn after each topic and gives real life examples and problems to analyse. He identifies small commonly neglected areas for students to obtain their rightful method mark. For advanced questions, he meticulously breaks down the problem to help weaker students to cope and manage with their understanding. With his passions and experiences, Mr Tan will definitely lead the students to excel in Mathematics.
